A unique component of Japanese homes is the mudroom - げんかん
The げんかん is a space (usually the entryway) for people to remove their shoes before entering the house (shown above). It seems as the removal of shoes is common for most Asian groups (this custom also extends to Koreans and Chinese). Most American homes, however, do not have such a space. In fact, a majority of Americans walk inside the house while wearing shoes.
にほんのうちわげんかんをあります。でも、アメリカのうちはげんかんありません。
American and Japanese homes do share some kitchen appliances like a microwave, stove, fridge. Japanese homes all have at least one rice cooker in the kitchen because rice is a part of their daily / main diet.
Both アメリカのスタバ and にほんのスタバ had Autumn Blend as one of their coffee options. Autumn Blend is a spicy blend of flavors that give an herbal and savory taste. I think this coffee flavor goes well with the fall weather~
that's why it's called Autumn Blend
にほんのスタバ had very interesting flavors. One flavor that I found very appealing was the Nectarine Peach and Cream Tea. I rarely drink tea, so this beverage looks very delicious :)
A popular drink from アメリカのスタバ is the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino Blended Beverage. Although it is not very unique, it also looks appealing.
Searching these flavors makes me curious to try some Starbucks beverages. Maybe I should...one day :)
Today, I would like to introduce you to two groups that I love and listen to daily. Are you ready?
**drum roll**
♡ AAA♡
♡ Goose House♡
AAA has some of the sweetest ballads, and Goose House has some of the best covers. I do recommend everyone to check their music (because they are all so beautiful and talented~) if you like soft, cute, and upbeat music.
Below are my current song obsessions from each group:
Thank you so much, and I'll see you in my next post~ o(*^▽^*)o
I am super excited to finally embark on my journey to learn Japanese~! I chose to study Japanese because of my personal interests in the culture, comics, fashion, and music. Having been introduced to Naruto (my all-time favorite manga and anime) at a young age, I fell in love with the Japanese language and developed a longing desire to learn it. Therefore, I would like to participate in the study abroad program at Keio University because I want to completely immerse myself in the Japanese culture and environment (I would also like to add that attending a cherry blossom festival in a kimono is a must on my bucket list 🌸). I hope that this blog serves as a diary for all of my endeavors to learn Japanese, and I wish everyone luck as well~♡
